I tend to expect AA lit. to be provocative or controversial too. Or at the very least, it makes me more interested. I'm kind of having massive self-doubts about being an English major because I don't read that much fiction anymore. For the past couple of years it's all nonfiction, philosophy, or poetry. Somewhere along the way, I think I turned to television for my fiction, which kind of freaks me out.
